Every year, during the Melbourne Marathon training campaign, we have a parade of legends come to speak to our Grow Kids to give them encouragement as they strive to achieve their fitness goals whilst helping others.  These kids run distances of 3km, 5km or 10km in the Melbourne Marathon in October, with sponsors helping them to raise funds in order to provide grants to kids who can’t run the way they do.

After 8 years of these events, we have some regulars both Don Elgin, paralympian, and Tamsyn Lewis, olympian, giving up some of their family time each year to come along and give our Grow Kids Team a few pointers in achieving their goals!

TAMSYN LEWIS
Olympic Gold Medallist and 18 times Australian Champion came down from Qld this year, especially to chat to the kids, give them some encouragement and a few tips along the way! The kids ran a lap with Tamsyn and lined up to have their t-shirts autographed by this utter legend!!

RICHARD WILLIAMS
Richard Williams is a professional stunt man, professionally teaches kids parkour in his Risky Kids business, helps run Spartan Races and has now taken on training our Grow Kids.
If you want to overcome a challenge, (with a smile on your face) and be completely supported, this guy ticks all the boxes

DON ELGIN
Don is a paralympian turned motivational speaker who has become a part of the fabric at Grow Foundation, himself an example of what can be achieved by any of us with grit, determination and a drive to achieve our best.

JARRYD BYRNE
Jarryd is a professional dancer who has appeared on Dancing With The Stars numerous times, and he comes along each year to give the Grow Kids Team a dance lesson to finish off their training session! This is a true highlight of our training campaign as it’s always so much fun!

We are so grateful to all of these and many more who step up to encourage and foster the positive community spirit at Grow Foundation!
