One of the opportunities The Grow Foundation offers is for parents to attend training to learn how to help your child at home.  Whilst some parents have successfully accessed funding, through various government schemes, to support their pursuit of methods advocated by Grow Foundation, it is often difficult to know where to start to access such funding.  The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) may make this process more straight forward for some parents.

For information regarding the NDIS, including when it will be rolling out in your region, please see below.

Where and when is the NDIS available?

The NDIS is a funding scheme for eligible people with a disability that is focused on the needs and goals of the individual person.

The NDIS began in a number of trial sites around Australia from July 2013.

On 1 July 2016, the NDIS began rolling out around Australia and will continue in stages over the next three years to ensure it is successful and sustainable.

People will enter the NDIS differently. In some states and territories, the NDIS will be rolled out by area while in others people will enter by age groups.

Visit your state and territory page to find out when the NDIS is coming to your area.

You can also check eligibility requirements at the NDIS Access Checklist at http://www.ndis.gov.au/ndis-access-checklist or call 1800 800 110.
